Z-Designstudio brings together product design, engineering and interior design. We develop technical products, furniture and interiors, supporting our clients from the initial brief through concept development to detailed design and implementation.

Industrial Design and Product Development

In industrial design, we explore what a product needs to do, how people will use it and how it can be manufactured. Function, construction, materials and design language are developed together. Hand sketches, CAD models, physical models and prototypes help us test and refine our ideas.

Our portfolio includes the Spectra Pro document examination system for Projectina, the error valet stand for MOX and the IKIO coat rack for Studio Domo.

Interior Design, Furniture and Lighting

Our experience in furniture development and lighting design informs our approach to interiors. We coordinate furniture, lighting, finishes and materials to suit a space’s use and atmosphere. Our selections are independent of suppliers, and we develop bespoke furniture and one-off pieces where needed.

Our projects for the municipal administrations of Winterthur and Zurich include communal areas, break rooms and meeting rooms. Read more in our interior design studio profile.

Internationally Recognised Design Projects

Selected designs in our portfolio have received international recognition. The Tetris shelving system received the Red Dot Design Award, documented by Swisspearl, and the iF Product Design Award in 2009. The IKIO coat rack for Studio Domo also received an iF Design Award.
